External Floating Roof
High performance equipment designed for exteral floating roof tanks.
A. Primary Seals
Mechanical Shoe Seal
Designed with “Y” Scissors Hanger
mechanism for flexibility and lower mechanical stress. Plate springs with entre spring for even seal pressure and superior sealing performance.
Flexi Mk3 Seal
Designed with array flexi-shoe
plates for light weight and
easy installation.
Foam Log Seal
A legacy seal with foam encapsulated
in seal fabric forming an annular seal
like giant “O” ring in the rim annular
space.
B. Secondary Seals
HKN Roller Double Wiper Secondary Seal
Features:
- Reduces secondary seal friction.
- Coverage for larger rim gap due to roller extension.
- Reduces pressure on the seal wiper. Advantages:
- Can be changed with tank in service.
- Prevents folding of secondary seal and/or its wiper.
Flexi-Low Profile Secondary Seal
HKN TankMaster Flexi-Wiper Low Profile Secondary Seal
is specially designed with low operating height
This low height allows for more tank useable storage inventory.
Materials used are stainless steel, Teflon and neoprene.
These make the seal compatible for use in most products.
C. Roof Drains
Pivoted Joint Roof Drain System
This is the simplest roof drain system available. It is easy to install
and is very cost effective. Using in conjunction with the pivoted joints
are standard API Sch. 40 pipes, ANSI #150 RF flanges and spiral
wound stainless steel metallic gaskets. The pivoted roof drain system
can be perceived as a combination of a flexible hose system and
a rigid pipe system, offering the unique advantages of both systems
without their short comings.
Swivel Joint Drain System
The swivel joints have been used for many years in external floating
roof drain system. The joints are normally connected to API Sch 40 pipes
to form a roof drain system.

Aluminium Geodesic Dome Roof
High performance components designed for exteral floating roof tanks.
A. Primary Seals
Geodesic dome roof is a good
piece equipment to keep a
product clean.
A domed external floating roof
keeps the floating roof from the
elements and hence reduces
maintenance cost.
Being in aluminium, a dome roof
requires very little maintenance
over its life time.

Floating Suction Units / Skimmer Units
High performance components designed for exteral floating roof tanks.
A. Primary Seals
Floating suction units are designed to draw product from near liquid level. This is to
ensure clean product is drawn out at all times. This is very important for applications
like Jet-A fuel tanks and fuel tanks for sensitive equipment like power plant generators.
The TankMaster® range of floating suction units are individually designed to suit
each application. They can be made in carbon steel, aluminum or stainless steel.
In a tall tank, a double swing joints may be required to achieve the desired operating
height.
Skimmer units are designed to draw liquid at a pre-determined level below a product
level. This is to ensure that oil or environmentally detrimental by-products of a process
that float on a product level are skimmed off before the content of the tank is discharged.
